Repair & stretching FAQ
Re-stretching, patching and underpad guidance — repair before you replace when possible.

Common questions
Can my carpet be repaired, or does it need replacing?
Many customers are surprised when repair is possible instead of full replacement. Depending on the carpet age, damage, available donor carpet, location, seams, underpad and overall condition, Victorious may be able to repair, stretch, patch or re-seam the carpet. A site visit or photo/video review gives the best answer. Customers can also check Google and HomeStars reviews to see examples of clients who were surprised to learn that carpet replacement was not their only option.
Will installation be dusty or messy?
Most carpet replacement projects create very little dust when the existing carpet, underpad and previous floor preparation are in normal condition. Dust can increase when old carpet backing, rubber underpad, pet-damaged areas, water-damaged areas or deteriorated materials have started breaking down. Dust-reduction options can be discussed before work begins when needed.
Do I need new underpad?
New underpad is strongly recommended when replacing carpet. Existing underpad may look usable but can be compressed, contaminated, deteriorated or unsuitable for the new carpet. Many carpet performance and warranty expectations depend on using the correct manufacturer-approved cushion, thickness and density.
