Common questions
What should I do in the first hour after a flood?
Shut off the water source if safe, take photos for insurance, move metal-legged furniture off wet carpet, and start extracting water with a wet-vac or pump. Do not wait — wet pad under carpet breeds mould within 24–48 hours.
Can flooded carpet be saved or does it need replacement?
Often yes — if we extract water quickly, remove and replace wet underpad, treat the subfloor, and power-stretch the carpet back. We inspect on-site and tell you honestly before recommending new carpet.
How quickly can Victorious respond to water damage?
Same-day assessments when possible across the GTA. Call (416) 858-7006 — we prioritize active leaks and basement floods to minimize mould risk and insurance claims.
Will insurance cover carpet flood repair?
Many homeowner policies cover sudden water damage from plumbing leaks or appliance failures. Document with photos, keep receipts, and we can provide a written scope for your adjuster.
Do you work with restoration companies?
Yes — we regularly reinstall carpet after WINMAR and other restoration crews dry the structure. We handle pad replacement, re-stretching, seam repair and transitions.
What about sewage or category-3 water damage?
Sewage backups usually require carpet and pad replacement for health reasons. We assess contamination level on-site and follow safe removal practices before new install.
