Pricing & estimates

How much does carpet installation cost?
Carpet installation pricing depends on the carpet selected, underpad, room size, stairs, furniture, removal/disposal, floor preparation, transitions, access and site conditions. Customers can check current monthly specials as a starting point, but final pricing requires project details and approval. A rough non-binding estimate may be possible with measurements, photos and project information.

Installation & scheduling

How soon can you install?
A typical timeline is approximately 1 week to 10 days after the material and booking details are confirmed. Earlier installation may be available case by case depending on material availability, schedule, location and project size.
Do I need to move my furniture?
Victorious offers furniture moving as part of the project when suitable and included in the scope. Customers should remove small items, valuables, fragile items, electronics, bedding, clothing, closet contents and personal belongings before installation.
Do you remove and dispose of old carpet?
Yes, removal and disposal can be handled when included in the project scope. Final details depend on the estimate and site conditions.
Can pets and children stay home during installation?
Pets and children must be kept away from the installation work area. Dogs and cats should be secured safely away from tools, open doors and work traffic. For birds and other sensitive respiratory pets, indoor air quality is especially important, so they should be kept in a separate, well-ventilated area away from the work zone. An indoor air quality monitor may be helpful for highly sensitive pets, but customers remain responsible for pet safety, ventilation and containment.
How long does carpet installation take?
A typical residential carpet project, such as 2 to 3 bedrooms, a small to mid-size hallway and one flight of stairs, is commonly scheduled for 1 to 2 days. If furniture moving is involved, customers should allow additional time, often up to an extra half day depending on the amount and type of furniture.
What do condo customers need before installation?
Condo customers should contact property management first and request the renovation request form, flooring requirements, acoustic requirements, insurance requirements, WSIB requirements, elevator booking rules and parking/loading rules. Victorious carries $5M commercial liability insurance and WSIB, and acoustic underpad options are available for many condo requirements. Approval, parking, service elevator booking and customer/designated representative availability must be arranged before work proceeds.
Can you install flooring I already purchased?
Client-supplied flooring is reviewed case by case and is not the preferred service model. Victorious may need the product URL, manufacturer specifications, installation instructions, measurements and site inspection before accepting the work. Measurements must be completed or verified by Victorious.
How soon can I vacuum new carpet?
Customers can use the carpet normally once installation is complete. Vacuuming can be done right away. Victorious recommends avoiding stiff roller/beater bars or aggressive power brushes unless the bristles are soft and suitable for the carpet. Firm bristles can damage carpet fibres and may cause pulls or snags, especially on loop or Berber carpets.
Will I see carpet seams?
Carpet seams should not be presented as invisible. A seam is a joined line, and a trained eye can usually locate it. Visibility depends on carpet style, fibre, colour, lighting, room angle, seam direction and traffic pattern. Some seams are naturally less noticeable, while others may show more from certain angles. Over time, with normal compression and use, some seams may become less visible and blend better into the carpet.
Will new carpet smell?
Most customers tolerate new carpet odour without issue, similar to other new interior materials such as a new vehicle, fresh paint after drying or new office equipment. Customers sensitive to odours should ventilate the room during and after installation and may choose to sleep in another room, another level of the home or elsewhere for the first night if needed.
Do you trim doors?
No. Victorious does not trim doors. If new carpet height affects bedroom, closet or basement doors, door trimming must be handled by a qualified handyman or carpenter. Victorious may be able to refer customers to a handyman when needed. Door clearance items can be addressed during the site visit, inspection or consultation.
What about baseboards, paint and wall scuffs?
Where possible, baseboards should be installed after carpet installation, with the baseboard lightly touching the carpet rather than compressing it. Carpet installation is construction work, and carpet backing can have a sandpaper-like effect when it contacts walls, corners, baseboards and painted surfaces. Scuffs, minor marks, paint touch-ups or paint peeling from poorly bonded paint are the customer's responsibility. For hard-surface flooring, baseboards and/or shoe moulding/quarter round may be removed, replaced or added depending on the project scope.
Do you offer evening or weekend commercial installation?
Scheduling flexibility is available for commercial projects and is reviewed case by case based on building rules, business operations, crew availability, access and project scope. Advance planning is required.

Repair, stretching & prep

Can my carpet be repaired, or does it need replacing?
Many customers are surprised when repair is possible instead of full replacement. Depending on the carpet age, damage, available donor carpet, location, seams, underpad and overall condition, Victorious may be able to repair, stretch, patch or re-seam the carpet. A site visit or photo/video review gives the best answer. Customers can also check Google and HomeStars reviews to see examples of clients who were surprised to learn that carpet replacement was not their only option.
Will installation be dusty or messy?
Most carpet replacement projects create very little dust when the existing carpet, underpad and previous floor preparation are in normal condition. Dust can increase when old carpet backing, rubber underpad, pet-damaged areas, water-damaged areas or deteriorated materials have started breaking down. Dust-reduction options can be discussed before work begins when needed.
Do I need new underpad?
New underpad is strongly recommended when replacing carpet. Existing underpad may look usable but can be compressed, contaminated, deteriorated or unsuitable for the new carpet. Many carpet performance and warranty expectations depend on using the correct manufacturer-approved cushion, thickness and density.

Warranty & trust

What warranty do I get?
Victorious provides a 1-year labour warranty on most installation work. Some carpet options or written project terms may include additional labour warranty wording, such as coverage against seam splits, detachment or buckling, only when specifically stated on the estimate, invoice or agreement. Product warranties depend on the manufacturer and selected product. Repair work, renovation-style alteration work on existing flooring, third-party carpet corrections, pet damage and site-condition-related concerns are reviewed case by case and may not be covered.

Carpet buyer questions

What carpet is best for pets?
For pets with nails, claws, beaks or natural scratching/chewing behaviour, avoid loop carpet where possible because loops can snag or pull. Polyester and nylon are common practical choices depending on budget, room use and durability expectations.
What carpet is best for kids?
Plush or saxony-style carpet is often preferred for kids because it is softer for knees and elbows during floor play. It also avoids loops that can catch toys and cause snags or pulls.
What carpet is best for stairs?
For stairs, the best option depends on traction, comfort, household habits and whether indoor shoes or slippers are worn. Loop/Berber carpet can be practical where indoor shoes are used. Plush/saxony can provide better comfort and traction in many homes and may provide a softer landing surface if someone slips. Nylon is usually the best fibre direction for higher-traffic stairs because it generally retains fibre memory better within its category.
What carpet is best for basements?
Carpet is often one of the most comfortable and practical basement flooring options when the basement is dry, finished and suitable for flooring. Victorious generally recommends synthetic carpet fibres for basements rather than natural fibres such as wool because synthetic fibres are more practical where humidity or moisture may be a concern. Any active moisture, flooding, mould, odour or contamination issue must be addressed before installation.

Floods & emergencies

What should I do in the first hour after a flood?
Shut off the water source if safe, take photos for insurance, move metal-legged furniture off wet carpet, and start extracting water with a wet-vac or pump. Do not wait — wet pad under carpet breeds mould within 24–48 hours.
Can flooded carpet be saved or does it need replacement?
Often yes — if we extract water quickly, remove and replace wet underpad, treat the subfloor, and power-stretch the carpet back. We inspect on-site and tell you honestly before recommending new carpet.
How quickly can Victorious respond to water damage?
Same-day assessments when possible across the GTA. Call (416) 858-7006 — we prioritize active leaks and basement floods to minimize mould risk and insurance claims.
Will insurance cover carpet flood repair?
Many homeowner policies cover sudden water damage from plumbing leaks or appliance failures. Document with photos, keep receipts, and we can provide a written scope for your adjuster.
Do you work with restoration companies?
Yes — we regularly reinstall carpet after WINMAR and other restoration crews dry the structure. We handle pad replacement, re-stretching, seam repair and transitions.
What about sewage or category-3 water damage?
Sewage backups usually require carpet and pad replacement for health reasons. We assess contamination level on-site and follow safe removal practices before new install.
